Václav Pata It's pop and it's intellectual, yet I wouldn't call it sophisticated. The way they use all tools at their disposal is playful, jazzy, cool and little punk. I think their accents and structures of the songs make it British in a lovely way.
I can't wait to ask a friend of mine about his opinion on Cool and Collected, because I think it's the best bloody post-rock song I've ever heard. Favorite track: Cool & Collected.

Pierre Conrad Unbelievable how quickly this album has become a favorite of 2018. I didn't have to wait for it to grow on me. It's catchy ("It's Not Just Me"), beautiful ("I Will Be Waiting"), and dance-able ("Donnie Darko"). S/o to Kiran Leonard too. I've been following his work since Grapefruit, so when I read that he was a fan, I didn't hesitate to check this album out. Favorite track: It's Not Just Me.

Love this record. "L'inconnue," "Dive," and "Lose Your Smile" are three of my favorite Beach House songs. Victoria's voice is always beautiful, but she literally sounds like what I'd imagine an angel to sound like on L'inconnue. Also "Lose Your Smile" has that same stoned alt country/dreamy vibe that later day Luna has. Definitely a diverse and inspiring record. I really hope they tour again soon so I can see them for the first time Jesse Mullen

Coming to the show a bit late here, honestly, when I saw Michelle on KEXP you-tube, I was taken away, that voice.. Diving woman is my favorite track, it has the intensity of Slowdive & the bass+drums really remind me of MetalBox & Flowers of Romance by Public Image Limited. Lyrically,I love the concepts and the warmth of sentiment, some searing truths written in an accessibility, its giving me a doorway to understanding her generation. irq506
